I'm back from Chicago now. In fact, it has been a week, but I've been busy packing and such cause I moved into the apartment yesterday. Anyway I had a fun time in the midwest, but was really excited to come back Wednesday.
The flight there sucked. There were thunderstorms and fast winds so when we got to Illinois, we circled around for awhile and made an emergency landing in Rockford to get more gas. We finally got into O'hare a little past midnight. We had a really late dinner and went to bed around 2am.
Thursday was lots of fun. I went tanning in the morning at the pool on the 4th floor and Lensta went swimming. We had lunch and then I went shopping on Michigan Avenue with Leo and Lenny. Surprisingly, they weren't bad shopping buddies at all! We went into stores that all of us wanted to and took as much time as needed. Oh and it was a good shopping day for everyone cause we all bought stuff :). It was funny though cause when we left H&M to heard towards Saks, Leo was talking about how if it started to rain we would run into Walgreens (Chicago is crazy about their Walgreens....their Walgreens is like our Starbucks. There's one on every block!) As we headed towards Saks, there was flash thunderstorms and rain..it was crazy so we ran, crossed the street and went into the first store we saw, which happened to be Walgreens hahaha. Anyway, although weather conditions got extremely bad cause it was so windy and rainy that it was hard to walk and see, it was a super fun time. We decided to walk back towards the condo (my cousins live in downtown) and on our way back we got slurpees, which I hadn't had in 483290 years.
Friday I went over to Nghiep's area in Lincoln Park and went shopping with Lisa and her mom. They have cute boutiques, but the stuff was crazy pricey so it wasn't very affordable. The town is cute though and duey said it's more of a college town and it's where people go out at night. Lis and I headed over to the pool to chill, talk and take pictures. I think that's all that happened Friday....
Saturday was the wedding. There was the tea ceremony, wedding at church and the reception at Galleria Marchetti.
Sunday I went to the Chicago White Sox vs Boston Red Sox game and guess who won?! Boston did..woo! Go Red Sox. Chicago sox suck this year though.
Monday I went shopping on State Street with Lisa and my mom. I got stuff for Ant, Molly, and myself. We had dim sum for lunch with everyone and Lisa, Lenny, and I had the worst bubble tea in the history of bubble tea. Ew.
Tuesday I went back to Chinatown with the parentals and Lenny for noodles that were only O.K. That night we went and got gelato with Du and then we had Chicago Deep Dish Pizza yumm-o from Lou Malnati's. It was good, but not amazing. I like Connie's better. I also had a White Castle burger too and it was pretty good!
Wednesday we walked over to Lake Michigan and took pictures. Hung out with the fam for a little and then headed home. Anthony called me while I was still in Chicago too to tell me he was home. :)
That was my trip in a nutshell. I had funnnn and there was so much to see. I love that city and always have a good time when I'm there. The shopping is amazing and I love that it is all close together. They seriously have everything!
I moved into the apartment over the weekend, but i'm not done with my move yet. I still have to get a desk and bedside table. I also have more stuff from home to bring up, but i'm not in a rush. The weekend was fun though. I got to see Anthony finally :). We spent the day together on Sunday and part of Monday before I left. We had lunch at a noodle house, went to pike place, walked by the water, went over to his town house and we watched superbad, which i didn't really like. Jason and Denny came over to my apartment to see it and hang out with us for a little while too. I missed my boy, but am glad he's back now. I'm home at the moment, but will be back up on Friday and I"ll stay til Sunday. I can't wait to go back. I like the new apartment even though it's kinda empty right now. I'm just happy that Anthony's home and that I have keys to the apartment now :).
